FLYING SHEARS
  1. Ram Mechanism
All Thermatool Alpha shears feature mechanical power transmission from a flywheel/clutch/brake assembly, a system proven to deliver the highest possible mechanical efficiency and reliability.
Thermatool's Swinging Ram (SR) operates with an oscillating arc motion for high speed, the Flying Ram (FR) has an orbital motion for maximum power. Both versions have power and speed control where its needed, near the bottom of the cutting stroke.
The number of moving parts is minimised to reduce inertia and maximise energy efficiency.

  2. Heavy Duty Stress Relieved Frame
Maintains alignment for maximum safety and hygenic operation. Can be supplied as an upright construction (pictured) or inclined to the rear at 45 degrees to facilitate corner to corner cutting of profiles where required. One piece easy open polycarbonate safety front for easy access to the dieset.

  3. Length Control System
The high performance drive system reduces cycle times making short length production in-line a profitable reality.
The system utilises either hydraulic or electrically powered drives, dependant on required performance. Servo control provides continuous, closed loop control ensuring constant monitoring of tube speed, dieset position/velocity and ram position. The final result, the highest mill speeds and greatest cut-length accuracy in the industry.

  4. Entry & Exit Guide Rolls
Ensures a smooth entry of tube/profile into the cut-off, through the dieset and exiting the press. Fully adjustable to accommodate the range of sizes produced.
